the rose contracting brand kit is a gift to my best friend. justin is an authentic and reliable person, and i wanted to give him a brand kit for his future company emulating that. justin plans to own a land development company that specializes in high-quality, semi-custom, single-family, starter homes. he named the company "rose contracting" after his grandmother rose.

rose contracting challenged me to find a balance between the visual association of a rose being delicate, beautiful, and feminine, with the male-dominated field of construction— often associated with dirt, heavy machinery, and overall ruggedness.

i decided to use the flower bud of the rose in the logo, but to focus the majority of the branding on the thorns and stem. rose stems are sharp, strong, and cutting edge (literally)— just like the company. rose contracting is rooted in trust. it's a company that is reliable, hard-working, and genuine, just like my friend.

the brand kit consists of a future logo, an excavator mock up, safety equiptment, a business card, and mock vision screens for active sites. this creates a consitent visual identity for justin's future company that displays the business at a surface level, while holding true to the amazing human behind it.
