the ben & jerry’s x spongebob collab was created as an advertising campaign to boost sales and match the original mission of the brands. thus was born, “goofy goobers for change,” a collaboration that released two, limited edition flavors of ice cream, with all proceeds going towards ocean clean up. 


the idea came from the recent collaborations between nickelodeon’s spongebob and numerous other brands including wendy’s, ollipop, and lush. spongebob is a timeless character, with a loyal fan base and ben & jerry’s is on a mission to make the earth a better place. the collaboration was a win for both brands.


i wanted to see how far i could take this idea, and who doesn’t love spongebob and ice cream? ben & jerry’s and spongebob are two very iconic and recognizable brands. i was able to find a happy medium that complimented both brands and helped to solve a real-world issue.
